TMCD Director, Professor Xiaolan Fu gave a lecture while on a tour of China this month, to students and faculty of the Chinese Academy of Science (CAS) on the topic of ‘International Collaboration for Frontier Technology’. It was organised by TMCD advisory board member – Professor Rongping Mu, Director of the CAS Institute of Policy and Management and our newest TMCD visiting fellow Dr Kaihua Chen.

The discussion focussed on the future direction of innovation in China and its implications for policies choices. Professor Fu also addressed the audience on benefits of and challenges to international innovation collaboration. The lecture attracted many students and faculty as the topic carried a lot of relevance to China's core development strategy. Professor Chunliang Fan, Vice Director of the academic committee of Chinese Academy of Sciences gave a high-level praise for Fu’s work, and stated that her research provides valuable implications for policy choices of innovation development in China.
