On the 22nd of October, our Centre's Director, Prof. Xiaolan Fu delivered a keynote address on 'Open Innovation: Lessons from China and relevance for Sustainable Development in Africa' at the 4th AfricaLics (African Network for Economics of Learning, Innovation, and Competence Building Systems) International Conference.

Her address showed how the digital silk road is an important initiative to complement the United Nation's work on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS). She however proposed that there is need for the agenda to be broadened from collaboration in connectivity infrastructure to collaborations in digital skills, data infrastructure, digital governance and third-party collaborations.
