Oxford Development Talks: China's growth strategy, and what It means for the world
In the recently launched Oxford Development Talks, TMCD Director, Prof Xiaolan Fu was interviewed by Prof Alexander Betts on the topic 'China's growth strategy, and what It means for the world'.
The interview was extensive covering several topics including; the evolution of China's growth strategy from import substitution to export promotion and from technology imitation to innovation. Prof Fu also discussed China’s rising economic status in the world, its implication for the roles and responsibilities of China in the world including the provision of global public goods and the US - China trade war. The conversation also covered the implication of the Coronavirus pandemic on China’s economic growth as well as its implication for emerging markets and the global economy.
