Cintia Kulzer Sacilotto
I am Brazilian and I graduated from the Universidad de Chile with a BA and an MSc degrees in Economics in 2006. I joined the Department of Economics and the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurial Studies (INTELIS) at University of Chile in 2008. I completed an MSc programme in Economics for Development at the University of Oxford in 2010 and I joined the DPhil in Development Studies in 2011. My DPhil research analyses the causes and consequences of industrial cluster relocation. It seeks to document the determinants of relocation and to understand the impact of cluster relocation on the new location, focusing on the transfer of technology and the diffusion of innovations, using social network analysis (SNA). The relocation of the footwear Sinos Valley cluster in Brazil is used as a case study. The cluster was partially relocated to the northeast as a consequence of international competition.
